How it works

A piece has two parts: the top, the decorative part you see, and the post that holds it in the piercing.

There is no standard post size. The length depends on your anatomy and on whether the piercing is fresh or healed, so I choose the post at the appointment.

Right after piercing I put in a longer post that leaves room for swelling.

After 4–6 weeks the swelling goes down and we change it to a shorter one. The jewellery then sits closer and catches less.
